Rural Care Immersion: University of Florida students and faculty are invited to partner with Global Health Impact on a short-term global health immersion to Belize, serving rural communities through home visits, adult and pediatric clinical care, and community-based health education.
This experience blends hands-on clinical service, cultural immersion, and interprofessional collaboration, while addressing critical health gaps in underserved rural regions.

What You’ll Do in Belize

Provide adult and pediatric clinical care in rural community clinics

Participate in home visits to assess health needs, access barriers, and family dynamics
-
Support urgent care and primary care services
-
Deliver health education focused on prevention, nutrition, and chronic disease
-
Teach age-appropriate health lessons in local middle and high schools
-
Assist with prenatal and postpartum support to promote healthy birth outcomes
-
Collaborate with local clinicians and community partners in culturally responsive care
